01 The syndicate
Hundreds of investments.
Ârc Angel is a syndicate that allows members to invest as little as $1,000 into founders within the Ârc Network.
We invest alongside other investors - on the same terms. We do not lead rounds or set terms.
Our intention is to facilitate hundreds of investments into the founders in our community over the coming years.
We live and work together: we meet the founder before the startup even exists. And every deal tightens the network: a community bound by financial not just philosophical interest, where members hold a stake in each other's success.
02 For founders
The most meaningful money.
There are thousands of VCs and accelerators. Each one ‘uniquely’ states that they are value-add and founder-first.
We, too, are here to tell you that: we are unique, and you should take our money.
But here is the difference.
Our money comes from your own community - the people you live and work alongside. The people you want to see win alongside your success.
Take it, and hundreds of members hold a stake in your future, each with a reason to open their network, their skills and their time to you. But we will not promise to be the most valuable money on your cap table.
We promise to be the most meaningful.
Elsewhere, success reverberates into oblivion: you sell your unicorn, pay your taxes, and still have homeless people on your street. In Ârc, your success directly enriches your friends, your neighbours and your community.
It will matter. You will matter.
03 For investors
Angel investing is a skill.
Ârc Angel lets you build it with small checks, alongside professional leads, into founders you actually know. These investments support our entire movement - and, we think, matter more than any other deal you will be shown.
How much?
A simple formula for the maximum in any one deal: the amount you wish to invest in high-risk startups each year, divided by 7. If you have $10,500 a year, put no more than $1,500 into any single deal.
What should you expect?
The expected outcome of every individual investment is 0. Only a portfolio of them has a realistic chance of a positive return - which is why we encourage you to invest less, across more deals.
Will anyone in Ârc really build a unicorn?
Yes. We have been around enough founders at the very beginning of their journeys who went on to create them - and those people are already in Ârc.
The terms?
0% management fee. 15% carry on realised profits. The standard is 2% and 20%.
When should you not invest?
If, when a deal returns 0, you cannot buy the founder a beer and give them a hug.
NB - investing is not a license to hassle founders. You will receive ad hoc updates - beyond that, your relationship with any founder we back is whatever it already is. And we will put no administrative burden on them beyond the demands of their other investors.

Three steps.
Deals are shown on this site to signed-in syndicate members. Create your account here, then complete the three steps with our regulatory partner:
Create an account on the platform of our regulatory partner.
Self-certify as a sophisticated or high-net-worth investor.
Verify your identity (KYC).
You will onboard through a mock deal on the platform, passing through each stage. You do not need to commit to the deal or fund your wallet.
Once you have onboarded successfully through each of the 3 steps we will reach out and invite you to the syndicate private chat where we discuss deals, and support our investees.
